Report from SE Alaska: Bald Eagle “Top Gun” School

On our recent trip to SE Alaska to observe the annual herring spawn spectacle (previously reported on) we made more than 5000 images of various wildlife in the region in almost two weeks! Yikes, that is a lot of digital review and editing. We are still reviewing but thought we would share some beauties we have come across featuring the American Bald Eagle. Close observations reveal that these avian apex predators are gifted in the art of flying. This remarkable skill coupled with their incredible eyesight makes them worthy predators in the rain forest areas of Alaska. Check out these images of eagles hunting for herring!
